Twin Tips apartments are situated in The Twin Towers Ishiuchi Resort at 949-6372, Niigata Ken, Minami-Uonuma-Shi, 986-2.

Just over 2 hours driving from Tokyo on the Kan-Etsu highway, brings you to the town of Yuzawa. Twin Towers Resort is approximately 4 kms from the centre of town on Route 17 - turn off when you see the Hot Air Balloon.

The resort complex is made up of 3 towers; 

Tower A – Apartments with ski slope access on B2 floor, Main Reception and Lobby, grocery store, La Mouette restaurant, courier services, table tennis and billiards and children play area. Underground Car Parking.

Central Tower P – Onsen and laundry on the 4th floor, Heated swimming pool on the 6th floor, access to the Sports Centre (full size basketball court) on the 5th floor.

Tower B – Apartments, 9th Floor access to the ski field and Gelande restaurant.

**Please note, the 5th floor of Tower B connects to the 6th floor of the Central Tower.

The temperature is set to heat at approximately 25°ͨC. Operation is one On / Off button. 

Please turn Off whenever you leave the apartment to save power.

Like most places in rural Japan, cash is best. However an ATM which accepts international cards, is available at the 7/11 on the Yuzawa Main Street not far from the Echigo Yuzawa Station. Alternatively, Noguchi supermarket (which accepts all major credit cards), has a cash machine.

Car Parking

Drive past the front entrance of the building to access the carpark. Take a ticket from the barrier gate and park your car wherever you like on levels B3 & B4 -spaces are available on a first come first served basis and there is no reservations. Please take your parking ticket to the Reception Front Desk on the first floor, for validating the total length of your stay. Your parking card will then be in credit and should be used to enter and exit the car park on each occasion. 

Parking for TwinTips guests cost ¥1,000 per 24 hours. Payment can be made to the Reception Front desk by cash or Twin Towers Resort coupons. Max height is 1.9m - if your vehicle is larger, please park outside.

During peak holiday times, additional car parking spaces are made available on the tennis court. There is also free parking down the hill from the resort.

Children's Play Area

There is a small carpeted children’s play area located on B1 of Central Tower. Access from the Reception lobby, by the stairs opposite the front desk. Particularly suited to younger children, there are a range of building toys, a small playhouse, soft coloured balls and play mats. As always, good behaviour and parental supervision is advised.

Courier Services

The courier office is located on B1 underneath Reception open from 9am-9pm. You can Takkyubin items to your desired destination either by paying per bag before you send, or payment on delivery. You can have your gear sent to the following address:

Grace

“Grace “ Karaoke Bar is located on the 2nd Floor above Reception and open on most Friday and Saturday nights from 19:00 to midnight. If you want to belt out all the classics from the 90’s or just enjoy a few drinks then this is the place to go. A great Nomihoudai price of Y2,000 per adult (alcoholic/soft drinks), Y500 per child (soft drink) allows 2hours of unlimited drinking and singing (Beer/sho chu/whiskey). A very authentic Japanese experience.

Each apartment has a unique key code, so keys are not required. On the keypad panel located by the front door, input the code followed by the Enter key to gain access to your apartment. Please see the IC card information.

Check in will be available at 3pm. Check out is at 11am. Requests for earlier arrival or later check out can be made via email and may, if available, incur additional fees. 

Luggage may be left at the courier office on B1 beneath Reception prior to check in.

Each apartment is equipped with some very basic cooking facilities. This includes a refrigerator, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, cutlery and several cooking utensils (ladle, spatula, sharp knife, cork screw, bottle opener). It will also include some of the following: toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee plunger, pots and frying pan.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy the variety of lunch venues on the mountain and Tsunan Tei restaurant below reception or Ten Shin on the 9th floor, for dinner.

Most TwinTips Standard Apartments have a multi-region DVD player attached to the television. Press the green button to access the DVD channel.

Each unit is equipped with smoke alarms. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of Building Management.

We here at TwinTips are trying to do our bit to reduce stress on the Grid. Please help us save energy by switching off lights and heaters when you leave the room.

To operate, select the dial for the burner you wish to use. Press and hold the dial until the flame ignites – you will hear it clicking – once you have flame, hold for a moment and adjust to the desired strength. To switch off, repress the dial and the flame will instantly shut off. If nothing happens, please check the gas tap beneath the sink, is turned on.

There is a small grocery store selling basics and omiyage, located in the Lobby of the Main Reception Tower A. 

There is a very well stocked supermarket called Noguchi located in Yuzawa town, 4 kms from TwinTips which accepts all major credit cards and has good opening hours.

Our guests often like to pop by the 7/11 near the station on their way to the resort, for essentials such as bread, milk & eggs.

Each Apartment has an IC Card (2 for Suites and 1 for smaller apartments). These cards give you building access from within the carpark, garbage areas and of course the main entrance at reception.

If you forget to take it with you when you leave the Resort please use the Intercom at the Main Entrance or Parking building, state your room number and you will be given access.

Replacement of the cards is ¥5000 so please take care of them.

All Apartments have a washing machine, some have a separate or combined Dryer.

Coin operated washing machines and dryers are available on the 4th Floor of the Central Tower (P). Small packets of detergent are available at the reception grocery store.

A wash cycle costs ¥200 and ¥300 gets 30 minutes of drying time.

Ski lift passes are available from the Ski office at the first chair lift found at the very bottom of the learner's slope (below the Hatsukaishi slope).

From Tower B,  exit the resort on the 9th floor and ski down to purchase your tickets. From Tower A you exit the resort at level B2 and ski down. Cash only.

The season at Ishiuchi Maruyama Resort runs from approximately December 18th – April 3rd. Regular hours of operation are from 8am – 5pm with night skiing available from 5pm – 8.50pm. Please see the general guide to Lift Pass prices & updated hours of operation here. 

Season Passes are completely the best value for money. Unlimited access to Ishiuchi Maruyama, from open til close. The opportunity to purchase Early Bird Specials will be posted here.

Two coin-operated massage chairs are available on Level 4 of the Central Tower P, near the onsen facility. Bring ¥200 for your 10 minutes of pure relaxation.

In-room Shiatsu Massage (Japanese language only) is available but appointments should be made 24 hours in advance. 

The Japanese style bath house is located on the 4th floor of the Central tower P.

Bathing facilities include hot & cold pools, reflexology path, jacuzzi and jet spas, dry sauna and a brand new open air bath. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body lotions and hair dyers. just bring your own towel.

To gain access you will need to purchase a ticket at the vending machine outside the Onsen entrance.

Cost for Adults are ¥500 and children are ¥200 (3 and under are free).

Please deposit tickets in small box on the desk to the right of the vending machine. The Onsen entrance is staffed in the evening outside of this the Onsen operates on an honesty system so please be respectful of this.

Once you have purchased your ticket Males go to the left and Females to the right.

YOU WILL NEED THE IC CARD TO ENTER THE ONSEN ROOMS.

Please read the small notice concerning Onsen Etiquette if you are at all unsure about what to expect. Please be respectful and understand that onsen time is totally about relaxing.

A couple of Onsen Rules to ensure everyone can enjoy the experience:

• It’s naked only or not at all
• No cameras or phones in the change room or bathing area.
• Clean your body before entering the bath & Rinse all bubbles off your body before getting in to the bath
• Wash away any bubbles around your wash station after you have finished & Rinse the seat and basin you used
• Tie your hair up if necessary
• Keep the noise to a minimum
• Do not drink alcohol or eat food in the bathing area
• No running.  No Swimming. No Bomb diving
• No washing of hair or body inside the onsen bath
• Drink plenty of water before and after your onsen - there is vending machine right by the reception desk
• Greet others in the bath with a friendly head nod when you get in
• Do not bring books or newspapers in the bathing area
• Do not put your head under the water in the bath
• Do not put your modesty towel in the bath. Set the towel on your head or on the side of the bath. If it accidentally falls in, wring it out on the outside the bath
• When soaking feel free to get in and out of the bath many times. Sitting on the side with only your feet in is OK.
• If you soak for too long you may feel light headed. Watch your body temperature and try not to get too hot. If you start to feel ill or light headed get out of the bath. There is a cold pool in the main bathing area also.
• Stand up slowly in the bath.  Due to the hot temperature you may feel faint if you stand up too quickly
• Dry off as much as you can before returning to the change room using your modesty towel. Keep the change room as dry as possible.

TwinTips has a strict No Pet policy. This includes dogs, cats and pelicans apparently. There is great Dog accommodation 10 minutes away, near Maiko ski field at Dog Run. Call to reserve a space.

Outside our back door lies the Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski field, connected to Gala, which is then connected to Yuzawa Kogen. Information about our field can be found on the official site here and loads of up to date details about Ishiuchi and other local fields, including Resort Data, Snowfall Stats and Course Maps can be found on SnowJapan's website here

TwinTips Apartments are all Non Smoking. All units have access to an outdoor balcony. Please don't flick butts over the railing.

There is a designated smoking area outside in front of the Reception Lobby.

Most TwinTips apartments are furnished with a sofa bed. Please use the mattress protector provided when using the sofa bed. The protector and all sofa bed linens are located in the storage section beneath the long sofa cushion. Lift up to access. 

To assemble, clear the floor space and gently pull the straps at the front of the sofa. The base will extend out on rollers and the bed will settle on the top. To replace. repeat by gently puling the straps and guiding the unit back into place.

The pool is located on the 6th floor of the Central Tower P. Entrance to the heated swimming pool is based on an Honesty System. Tickets can be purchased from the small vending machine on the 5th floor (one floor down from the pool itself) or you can use Resort coupons.

Costs for adults is ¥500 and children are ¥200 (3 and under are free). Please place your ticket in the small box located inside the pool complex.

Please wash your body before entering the pool.

Please be mindful of slippery surfaces and hard tiles.

If you have youngsters, take time to familiarise yourself with the slide in the kiddy pool which can be dangerous due to the sudden sharp drop into the water.

There are no lifeguards on duty unless clearly advertised, please take responsibility for your children at all times.

The glass drying room inside the pool complex is often heated for your winter comfort and there are hot showers available for washing off. Please visit the bathing facility below on the 4th floor if you wish to use washing products.

Access to local Japanese stations. DVD players are provided in most rooms & Apple Tv can be connected where Wi-Fi is enabled.

Turn to the dial at the end of the unit, to desired heat. If necessary, these may be left on all day set at 2-3 which will maintain a comfortable warmth.

Some apartments require activating the Wall Heater switch on the control panel in the kitchen.

There are a host of recreation facilities available including a full size basketball court, several table tennis tables, a billiards table, a gym with workout equipment, a small children's play area (accessed from main lobby via stairs to B1)  and a heated swimming pool. Equipment such as pool cues, table tennis bats, badminton rackets and basketballs, are available for hire at the front reception desk.

Wi-Fi access is freely available in the Main Reception Lobby area.

Located in the lobby area of Central Tower P, you will find Skid Rentals open from 8am – 6pm. Both adults and children's equipment and clothing may be hired or purchased here.  They also stock a range of exclusive brands for all terrain. Please see the price list. Rentals can be paid with cash or credit card.

Various vending machines are available throughout the building where you can purchase beer, chu-hai and soft drinks. Cigarettes can be purchased from the machine beside reception using a Taspo card available at the front desk. An ice cream vending machine is also located in the reception area. Yen Notes can be exchanged for coins in the machine directly beside the front desk.
